How to Use

1. Insert the matching blood ketone calibration chip into the meter before using a new box of ketone test strips.
2. Insert a compatible blood ketone test strip into the strip port.
3. Make sure the code number on the meter matches the code on the strip package.
4. Wait for the blood drop symbol to appear on the screen.
5. Apply enough blood sample to the sampling tip of the strip.
6. Wait for the countdown and read the blood ketone result on the display.
7. Use the strip ejector to discard the used strip after testing.

FAQ & Common Questions

Q1: Why does the meter show mg/dL? Is it for blood ketone testing?
The mg/dL unit is only used for blood glucose testing. Blood ketone results are displayed in mmol/L only and cannot be switched to mg/dL.

Q2: Why does the ketone result show 0.0 mmol/L?
The blood ketone measurement range is 0.0–8.0 mmol/L. A 0.0 mmol/L reading is within the display range and may indicate that the blood ketone level is very low at the time of testing. If the result seems inconsistent, please wash and dry your hands, use a new ketone test strip, and repeat the test carefully.

Q3: Why does the meter show E-2?
E-2 usually means the test strip may be used, contaminated, damaged, expired, or exposed to moisture. Please replace it with a new ketone test strip and repeat the test. To help avoid this issue, keep the test strips dry, close the vial cap tightly after use, and use the strip immediately after opening.

Q4: Why does the meter show E-5?
E-5 usually means the blood sample is not enough, or the sample was added too late after the test started. Please use a new test strip and apply enough blood to the sampling tip until the check window is filled. If the meter has already started counting down but the check window is not fully filled, do not add more blood. Please discard the strip and test again with a new strip.

Q5: Do I need to use the calibration chip?
Yes. Please use the matching blood ketone calibration chip supplied with each box of ketone test strips. The chip only needs to be read once for each new box or strip lot. After the meter saves the code, you do not need to insert the chip before every test.

Q6: Can I reuse the test strips or lancets?
No. Test strips and sterile lancets are single-use items. Do not reuse them. Please dispose of used strips and lancets properly after testing.
